Phil Barone is the director and founder of
The Evergreen Choir. With strong musical
roots (a member of The New York All State
and MENC All Eastern Choirs while in high
school!), Phil continued his musical studies
in voice at Suffolk Community College
where he recieved an Associates Degree in
Performing Arts Music. He then continued
his studies at Eastern Nazarene College in
Quincy, Massachusetts and then received a
BA in Music from SUNY Empire State
College. Mr. Barone studied voice in Boston
with renowned baritone Thomas Jones,
who currently teaches voice through The
Office for the Arts at Harvard University. In
addition to serving as the student choral
director at Suffolk Community College, Mr.
Barone has made numerous appearances
as both a choral member and a soloist. As
a member of "The Long Island
Philharmonic Choir," he performed the Verdi
"Requiem" at New York's "Carnegie Hall."
He was a featured soloist at Eastern
Nazarene College (Faure "Requiem"). Phil
Barone has a deep, abiding love and
passion for the art of fine choral music in
the a cappella tradition.
